Library of Things

Library of Things are non-traditional items that you can borrow from the Muskoka Lakes Public Library.  There are specific borrowing rules and procedures for this collection. 

Library of Things Eligibility

The Library of Things (LoT) is available to all cardholders who are in good standing with the Muskoka Lakes Public Library.  Members must be at least 18 years old to borrow items from the LoT collection.  

Borrowers are responsible for:
1.  the safe and proper use of the items while in their possession, including following all instructions and guidelines provided by the Library and item manufacturer.  
2.  inspecting the item for damages before borrowing and reporting any issues to Library staff immediately.  If damage is noted after borrowing, the borrower must notify the Library as soon as possible.
3.  returning items in the same condition that they were borrowed. 
4.  cleaning and maintaining the items according to any provided guidelines before returning them
ensuring that items are returned on time.  Late items may affect borrowing privileges, and repeated late returns or damage to items may result in the suspension of borrowing privileges.
5.  agreeing to indemnify and hold harmless the Library, its employees, and agents from any and all claims, damages, or liabilities arising from their use of borrowed items. 
6.  signing the Muskoka Lakes Public Library General Liability Waiver - Borrowing Things from the Library of Things Collection.
