Watershed Conditions Statement - Water Safety (Bracebridge Minden Parry Sound District)
MUSKOKA LAKES, ON – The Township of Muskoka Lakes is advising residents and visitors to take extra caution around lakes, rivers, and waterways following a Watershed Conditions Statement – Water Safety Bulletin issued by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) – Bracebridge Minden Parry Sound District.
The bulletin is in effect until Friday, July 4, 2025, and applies to areas within the District of Muskoka, including the Muskoka, Severn, and other local river watersheds.
Recent rainfall between June 17–21 has caused water levels and river flows to rise higher than normal for this time of year. With more precipitation expected in the coming days, conditions may remain elevated.
Although flooding is not currently anticipated, the Township urges all community members to:
- Exercise caution near all waterbodies;
- Supervise children and pets closely when near shorelines;
- Secure vulnerable property if you’ve experienced high water in the past;
- Stay alert to changing weather and watershed conditions;
- Avoid forest access roads, which may become flooded or impassable.
The Township will continue to monitor conditions and share updates from the Province as they become available.
