Community Grants Program Applications Now Open

Grants of up to $2,500 are available for eligible non-profit and community-based organizations for projects or initiatives that benefit the community and support Township priorities. Applications close Monday, April 6, 2026.

MUSKOKA LAKES, ON, Mar. 16, 2026 – The Township of Muskoka Lakes (“Township”) is pleased to announce the Community Grants Program is now open for applications from March 16 to April 6, 2026.

The Community Grants Program (“the program”) is one of three streams of funding under the Township’s Municipal Grants Program Policy (“the policy”). This program provides funding to eligible non-profit and community-based organizations for projects or initiatives that benefit the community and support the priorities outlined under the Township’s Strategic Plan.

Eligible applicants may apply for up to $2,500 in funding for direct project-related expenses through this program. Projects must be open to the public, non-political in nature, and take place in Muskoka Lakes or clearly demonstrate a benefit to Township residents.

Since 2022, the Township has provided approximately $100,000 in grants under this program.

“One of the things that makes Muskoka Lakes so special is the care and commitment shown by our local organizations and volunteers,” said Mayor Peter Kelley. “This program is one way the Township can help support that work, and I encourage groups with initiatives that aim to benefit the broader community to apply.”

How to Apply

The program is open to eligible non-profit and community-based organizations. Applicants must submit organization and contact information, project details, anticipated community impact, and required supporting documents, including a completed Budget Form and Signature Page.

Applications may be submitted online through Engage Muskoka Lakes or in person at the Township Office (1 Bailey St., Port Carling, ON). The application period is open until Monday, Apr. 6, 2026. All applications are subject to approval by Township Council.
