(Updated April 17) Locations of particular concern due to the potential for heightened impacts include Lake Muskoka and Moon River including the Bala Reach. MNR advises residents to take immediate action to safeguard homes and property. Flooding could occur quickly and with little or no warning.

Public Works crews have been servicing roads and are prepared for the forecasted weather. Staff and equipment are ready and crews will continue to monitor the situation as conditions progress.

Public Works crews have made significant progress clearing and treating roads throughout the Township, helping to restore safer travel conditions and allowing for the declaration to be lifted. Regular winter maintenance and monitoring will continue on all Township roads.
The Township of Muskoka Lakes thanks residents for their patience and cooperation during the event. While conditions have improved, winter weather can change rapidly, and motorists are reminded to continue exercising caution when travelling.
The Significant Weather Event, declared on December 28, 2025, remains in effect for all Township roads throughout Muskoka Lakes.
Public Works crews are on the roads; however maintenance is expected to take longer due to the current severe conditions.
During this Significant Weather Event, residents are advised to avoid all unnecessary travel on roads, until further notice.
The Township of Muskoka Lakes has declared a Significant Weather Event for all Township roads throughout Muskoka Lakes, effective immediately.
The declaration is due to Freezing Rain and Winter Storm Warnings issued by Environment Canada, forecasting weather conditions that are expected to impact road maintenance operations.
