All current fire permits are suspended. Daytime burning and fireworks are prohibited. Evening burning is permitted with extreme caution.
Work is expected to be completed by late July.
As part of the program, the Township will avoid cutting milkweed wherever possible to support monarch butterfly conservation, as milkweed is critical to their reproduction and survival. Residents can support this effort by marking roadside milkweed with orange tape or cloth to make plants more visible to operators. Flagging tape is available from the Public Works Department upon request at 705-765-3156 or pw@muskokalakes.ca
Please drive carefully, stay alert, and reduce speed near workers and equipment.
The closure will extend from Mill Street to approximately 50 metres west (see map below). A signed detour route will be in place, and access to River Street will remain available via Maple Avenue.
Construction is anticipated to be completed by Fall/Winter 2026. Please drive with caution and follow all posted signage in the area.
Starting Monday, May 25, a section of sidewalk on Medora St. below Pie Wood Pizza in Port Carling, will undergo repairs to address premature deterioration. Work is expected to be completed by June 5, weather permitting.

Update (May 1) - South Monck Drive has reopened.
Residents and visitors are urged to avoid non-essential travel in affected areas and to monitor conditions closely, as heavy rainfall and runoff may create hazardous driving conditions, including pooling water, reduced visibility, erosion, and sudden road damage.
This notice will be updated once water levels recede and Public Works crews are able to safely inspect the road. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to address this matter.
Update (May 1) - Beatrice Townline has reopened.
