District of Muskoka - Service Alert: Multiple Bridge Lifts in Port Carling on Sept. 29 - 30 and Oct. 6

From the District Municipality of Muskoka:

The Port Carling Bridge will undergo electrical and mechanical inspections on the following days and times: 

Tuesday, September 29 and Wednesday, September 30

• Time: 10:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
• Purpose: The Port Carling Lift Bridge will undergo 3 bridge lifts per day to allow for inspection of the bridge’s electrical components.

Tuesday, October 6

• Time: 9:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.
• Purpose: The Port Carling Lift Bridge will be lifted approximately 10 times to allow for inspection of the bridge’s mechanical components.

Motorists and pedestrians should expect delays of up to 15 minutes throughout the inspection periods outlined above. Please plan ahead to account for increased travel time through the area.

An alternate route is available on the District of Muskoka website should motorists wish to avoid the Port Carling Lift Bridge area on the scheduled inspection days.
