Hanna Park Boat Launch and Windsor Park Dock Temporarily Closing for Improvements
Replacement and rehabilitation work will begin September 8, with reopening expected the week of September 28.
MUSKOKA LAKES, ON, September 4, 2026 – Beginning Tuesday, September 8, 2026, the Township of Muskoka Lakes (“Township”) will begin scheduled rehabilitation and replacement work at the Hanna Park Boat Launch in Port Carling and the Windsor Park Dock in Bala.
Construction is expected to take approximately three weeks, with both areas anticipated to reopen the week of September 28. Temporary closures will be in place while work is underway.
Hanna Park Boat Launch and Wharf Replacement

The Hanna Park Boat Launch and adjacent wharf landing will be closed beginning September 8 while the Township replaces the existing boat ramp and rehabilitates the wharf landing.
The boat ramp was constructed in 1989 and has reached the end of its useful life. Repairs have been completed over the years; however, the current condition of the structure, including several connections, presents safety and environmental concerns and replacement is now required.
The project will include design work, removal of the existing structure, installation of a new boat ramp and rehabilitation of the adjacent wharf landing, budgeted at $118,000.
During construction, nearby public boat launches are available at:

Windsor Park Dock Rehabilitation

The Windsor Park Dock will be closed beginning September 8 while rehabilitation work is completed. Windsor Park will remain open throughout construction, with access restricted around the work area.
The existing dock decking is approximately 25 years old and has reached the end of its useful life. Repairs have been completed over time; however, rehabilitation is now required to maintain the dock.
The project will include design and permitting, additional structural supports and steel piles, and replacement of the existing decking, budgeted at $114,500.
During construction, nearby public docks are available at:

Residents and visitors are asked to follow all posted construction signage and remain clear of active construction areas for their safety and the safety of crews working on site.
The Township appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation while these improvements are completed.
