Special Weather Statement Issued for Muskoka (Yellow Warning: Freezing Rain)
MUSKOKA LAKES, ON, March 10, 2026 – Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning and rainfall warning for Muskoka. Periods of freezing rain are expected to begin tonight or early Wednesday, March 11 and continue through to Thursday. Muskoka Lakes could receive 20 to 40 mm of rain, with freezing rain resulting in 2 to 5 mm of ice accretion.

Public Works crews have been servicing roads and are prepared for the forecasted weather. Staff and equipment are ready and crews will continue to monitor the situation as conditions progress.

Power outages may occur due to prolonged periods of freezing rain. Always treat any downed power line as live and extremely dangerous. The ground around it can be electrified, so you do not need to touch the line itself to be seriously injured. Stay at least 10 metres away, keep others back, and call 9-1-1 and your local power distribution company immediately.
