Township of Muskoka Lakes Council Approves Lease for New Medical Practice at Port Carling Health Hub

New physician-led clinic expands access to primary care; not affiliated with existing nurse practitioner clinic. Patient intake and opening details to be shared at a later date.

MUSKOKA LAKES, ON, November 14, 2025 – The Township of Muskoka Lakes ("Township") is pleased to announce that Council has approved a lease agreement with Dr. Brenda Martin Medicine Professional Corporation (“Dr. Martin’s practice”) for space on the upper floor of the Port Carling Health Hub (147 Medora Street, Port Carling, ON). This decision supports Council’s ongoing commitment to enhancing access to primary health care in Muskoka Lakes, as outlined in Staff Report DSES-2025-049.

The Township wishes to emphasize that Dr. Martin’s practice and the existing nurse practitioner clinic operated by the Cottage Country Family Health Team (“CCFHT”) are entirely separate organizations. They are not affiliated and will operate independently, with distinct staff, patient rosters, and services.

Community members are kindly asked not to contact the Cottage Country Family Health Team regarding Dr. Martin’s practice, as CCFHT staff will not have information about this clinic.

Details regarding Dr. Martin’s services, opening date, and patient intake process will be shared by the Township once available.

The Township thanks residents for their continued support of local health initiatives and looks forward to welcoming Dr. Martin to the Port Carling Health Hub in the near future.
