Watershed Conditions Statement – Flood Outlook (Effective Until July 22, 2025)
MUSKOKA LAKES, ON – The Township of Muskoka Lakes is advising residents and visitors to use extra caution around lakes, rivers, and waterways following a Watershed Conditions Statement – Flood Outlook Bulletin issued by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) – Bracebridge Minden Parry Sound District.
The bulletin is in effect through Tuesday, July 22, 2025.
Significant rainfall between July 6–7 has resulted in higher-than-normal water levels and river flows across the region. This rainfall caused water levels and river flows to increase higher than normal for this time of year. This water is still moving through the watersheds.
The Township encourages residents and visitors to:
- Exercise caution near all waterbodies;
- Closely supervise children and pets near shorelines;
- Secure property if past high-water events have posed risk;
- Stay informed on developing weather and watershed conditions;
- Avoid forest access roads, which may be flooded or impassable.
Individuals who have experienced high water or flow conditions in the past should take necessary actions to protect/secure any vulnerable property near rivers and lakes.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is actively monitoring watershed conditions, and the Township will share relevant updates as they become available.
