Notice of Amendments to Building By-law #2005-087

Notice is hereby given in accordance with Section 7(6) of the Building Code Act, S.O. 1992, Chapter 23, as amended, of the intention to amend the Township of Muskoka Lakes Building By-law #2005-087.

The following amendments are proposed and will have the effect of:

  • Updating definitions;
  • Updating the classes of permits section;
  • Modifying requirements for applications and notice requirements for inspections;
  • Imposing new alternative solutions to the objective-based building code;
  • Minor amendments to Schedule H (fees), including sewage system maintenance inspection program fees, and;
  • General provisions

The draft red-lined version of the Building By-law, Schedule H (fees) and Alternative Solutions form are available upon request at the Township’s office or by viewing it on the municipal website.

The by-law amendment will be considered at the Planning Committee Meeting to be held at 9:00 a.m. on November 13th, 2025, at the Township of Muskoka Lakes Municipal office, 1 Bailey Street, Port Carling, Ontario, at which time there will be a public meeting. Any person who attends will have the opportunity to make representations with respect to this matter.
