Founded in 1990, Candlelighters Simcoe is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children with cancer and their families across Simcoe County and surrounding areas. Inspired by founder Barbara Johnson’s personal experience navigating her son’s cancer journey, the organization works to bridge gaps in care by providing essential programs, services, and resources.
With childhood cancer remaining one of the leading disease-related causes of death among children in Ontario, Candlelighters Simcoe strives to lessen the emotional, social, and financial burdens families face, offering support and connection when it’s needed most.
