Township of Muskoka Lakes Seeks Community Feedback on 2026-2030 Multi-Year Accessibility Plan
Review the plan and help identify opportunities to improve accessibility across Muskoka Lakes. Feedback on this plan closes Wednesday, September 9, 2026. The Township continues to welcome feedback on accessibility at any time.
MUSKOKA LAKES, ON, August 20, 2026 – The Township of Muskoka Lakes (“Township”) is inviting the community to review and provide feedback on its 2026-2030 Multi-Year Accessibility Plan (“Accessibility Plan” or “Plan”).
The Plan outlines the Township’s approach to identifying, preventing and removing barriers to accessibility across municipal programs, services and facilities over the next five years. It also identifies opportunities for the Township to continue improving accessibility and work toward a more inclusive and barrier-free Muskoka Lakes.
Under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (“AODA”), municipalities are required to develop a Multi-Year Accessibility Plan and update it at least once every five years. The Plan outlines how the Township will meet applicable accessibility requirements and standards related to customer service, information and communications, employment, transportation and the design of public spaces.
While the plan is designed to meet the Township’s legislative requirements under the AODA, it also considers opportunities to go beyond the minimum standards and further improve accessibility.
