Township of Muskoka Lakes Welcomes New Director of Development Services and Environmental Sustainability

MUSKOKA LAKES, ON, September 15, 2026 – The Township of Muskoka Lakes is pleased to welcome Richard Clark as its new Director of Development Services and Environmental Sustainability.

Richard brings nearly 25 years of progressive planning and leadership experience including as an Environmental Planner with Credit Valley Conservation and a Senior Planner with Halton Region. Most recently, Richard served as the Manager of Planning for the Town of Huntsville. His diverse background provides him with extensive experience in land use planning, environmental management, regulatory compliance, and development review.

As Director of Development Services and Environmental Sustainability, Richard will provide leadership across the Township’s development services and environmental sustainability portfolio, including Planning, Building, By-law, and Economic Development. In this role, he will work closely with staff, Council and community members on development and environmental priorities across Muskoka Lakes.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Management from the University of Toronto, is a Registered Professional Planner and a member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and Canadian Institute of Planning.
