Voters’ List Update: Your Questions, Answered.
The Voters’ List for the 2026 Municipal Election is officially transitioning from Elections Ontario to the Township of Muskoka Lakes this week. This means the Township will now take over responsibility for preparing the list and helping eligible voters check, add or update their voter information.
If you haven’t checked your voter information yet, there’s still time. Once the transition is complete, you’ll be able to confirm you’re on the Voters’ List and make sure your information is correct before voting begins.
What's Happening with the Voters’ List?
Until August 12:
Elections Ontario was responsible for collecting and updating voter information used to prepare the Preliminary Voters’ List for the 2026 Municipal Election.
From August 13 to the week of August 17:
The Voters’ List is being transferred from Elections Ontario to the Township of Muskoka Lakes. During this transition period, Township staff will review the information received and begin preparing the final Voters’ List for the upcoming election.
If you have questions or would like to check, add or update your voter information during this time, you can contact the Township and staff will record your request for follow-up (details below).
Starting the week of August 17:
The Township expects to launch Voter Lookup, an online tool that will make it easy for eligible voters to manage their voter information ahead of the election.
Through Voter Lookup, you will be able to check if you're on the Voters’ List, confirm your information is correct, add yourself to the list if needed, or request an update to your information.

What Do I Need to Do?
Get election ready by making sure you’re on the Voters’ List and your information is up to date. Take these steps to get started:

Voter Lookup is expected to be available the week of August 17. Once it’s live, we encourage all eligible voters to check their information, even if you’ve voted in Muskoka Lakes before.
Take a moment to make sure:
- You’re on the Voters’ List;
- Your name is correct; and
- Your qualifying Muskoka Lakes address is correct.
The link for Voter Lookup will be added here, and on the Election Hub once available: 2026 Elections | Township of Muskoka Lakes
