2026 User Fees, Rates and Charges

Updated User Fees, Rates and Charges are now in effect as of January 1, 2026.

The Township of Muskoka Lakes charges user fees for select services and facilities, such as recreation programs, community centres, parks, planning and building services, and licensing. These fees help cover the cost of providing services and are reviewed every two years (as per Council Policy FS-16 - User Fees and Charges) to ensure they remain fair and up to date.

Credit Card Payments

As of October 6, 2022 we are allowed to pass through a small surcharge on your purchase if you choose to pay with Visa or Mastercard credit cards.

To offset credit card acceptance costs, we apply a surcharge fee on all credit card transactions. This fee is no greater than the fee we pay to Visa and Mastercard and ensures that credit card acceptance costs are allocated only to those customers who elect to pay with these credit cards.

Fee: 1.75% per transaction

We believe in presenting these fees transparently, allowing you to make an informed decision when you choose your form of payment.

The Township of Muskoka Lakes offers several convenient options for paying invoices:

Online Bill Payment
If your financial institution supports online bill payments, you may select:

Please ensure you use your Customer Number as the account reference when making payment.
Wire Transfer
For full instructions to pay by wire transfer, please email ar@muskokalakes.ca

In Person
Payments can be made in-person at the Township office:

Office Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

We accept cash, cheque, debit, and credit card (credit card payments are subject to a surcharge).

A secure drop box is also available at the office for after-hours payments.

This ensures timely processing of your payment.
Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Payments
To avoid potential delays, we encourage vendors to set up Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) as the preferred payment method. If you have not already arranged EFT with Accounts Payable, please contact us at ap@muskokalakes.ca to complete your setup.
