Applications Open for the Muskoka Compliance Audit Committee (2026-2030)

MUSKOKA, ON. June 29, 2026 – On behalf of the Muskoka Clerks, applications are now being accepted for appointment to the Muskoka Compliance Audit Committee for the 2026 to 2030 Council term. Applications will be accepted until Monday, July 20, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. (EST).

The Muskoka Clerks represent the clerks of the six area municipalities within the District of Muskoka:

  • Town of Bracebridge
  • Town of Gravenhurst
  • Town of Huntsville
  • Township of Georgian Bay
  • Township of Lake of Bays
  • Township of Muskoka Lakes

The Muskoka Compliance Audit Committee is an independent committee established under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. The Committee is responsible for considering applications requesting compliance audits of municipal election campaign finances for candidates and registered third parties, including any by-elections held during the term of Council.

The Committee is also responsible for reviewing reports submitted by municipal Clerks regarding contributors who may have exceeded contribution limits established under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, and determining any appropriate action.

The Committee consists of a minimum of three (3) members appointed jointly by the participating municipalities.

Experience or knowledge in one or more of the following areas is considered an asset, but not required:

  • Accounting, auditing, or financial management
  • Law or legal procedures
  • Municipal government or public administration
  • Election administration or campaign finance
  • Administrative decision-making or tribunal experience

Qualified applicants from across the District of Muskoka are encouraged to apply.
