New Ownership

Congratulations on your new ownership status!

Here's what you should know:

• Your lawyer is required to provide the Township of Muskoka Lakes with an ownership update and registered deed at closing of sale.
• The Property Tax Department will send a New Property Owner Letter along with a current tax account statement and any future bills to the new owner. 
• The owner is responsible for paying property taxes in time for the due date.
• The owner is responsible to ensure that their mailing address information is correct.

To ensure timely updates, law offices are required to provide the Township of Muskoka Lake’s Property Tax Department with a notice of ownership and registered deed after the closing of a sale of property within Muskoka Lakes’ boundaries.
