The Significant Weather Event, declared on December 28, 2025, remains in effect for all Township roads throughout Muskoka Lakes.
Public Works crews are on the roads; however maintenance is expected to take longer due to the current severe conditions.
During this Significant Weather Event, residents are advised to avoid all unnecessary travel on roads, until further notice.
The Township of Muskoka Lakes has declared a Significant Weather Event for all Township roads throughout Muskoka Lakes, effective immediately.
The declaration is due to Freezing Rain and Winter Storm Warnings issued by Environment Canada, forecasting weather conditions that are expected to impact road maintenance operations.

A $20,500 contribution from the Dr. William S. Monk Community Health Care Development Fund, administered by the Muskoka Community Foundation, has been accepted to support the procurement of equipment for the new physician’s office at the Port Carling Health Hub.
The Township’s budget has been developed with a commitment to ensure the maintenance of existing levels of service while also building for the future by investing in infrastructure renewal and community services.
Statutory planning notices to be posted online and on community boards at the municipal office beginning December 1, 2025. This shift aligns with the Township’s efforts to enhance the reliability and accessibility of its communications through digital channels. Muskoka Lakes Fire to host Mobile Live Fire Training Unit in Port Carling from Oct. 28 - Nov.
This training is closed to the public.
Members of the public may see an increased presence of fire personnel, along with visible smoke and related odours, in the area of Fire Station 6 and during the times outlined in the training schedule.
Members of the community are encouraged to participate in an online survey available through Engage Muskoka Lakes by November 5, 2025.
