Update (May 5) - River Street has reopened.
Several roads are currently being impacted due to seasonal flooding. Check your route before you travel with Municipal511.
Update (May 1) - South Monck Drive has reopened.
Residents and visitors are urged to avoid non-essential travel in affected areas and to monitor conditions closely, as heavy rainfall and runoff may create hazardous driving conditions, including pooling water, reduced visibility, erosion, and sudden road damage.
This notice will be updated once water levels recede and Public Works crews are able to safely inspect the road. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to address this matter.
(Updated April 17) Locations of particular concern due to the potential for heightened impacts include Lake Muskoka and Moon River including the Bala Reach. Keep a close watch on weather conditions, exercise caution near fast moving rivers and streams and maintain close supervision of children and pets.
MNR advises residents to take immediate action to safeguard homes and property. Flooding could occur quickly and with little or no warning.
Sandbags are available for self-serve pickup at Bala Sports Park (3224 Muskoka Rd. 169) and Hanna Park (40 Bailey St.)

The Ministry of Natural Resources, Bracebridge-Minden-Parry Sound District, is advising residents that a Flood Watch is in effect until Friday, April 17, 2026.

MUNICIPAL ELECTION DAY is Monday October 26, 2026.
Nominations are to be filed with the Clerk, or designate, and may be made by completing the prescribed Nomination Form and associated documents with acceptable identification and the nomination filing fee.
Nominations must be signed by the candidate and filed in person during regular business hours beginning on Monday May 1, 2026 through to 2:00pm on Friday August 21, 2026 (Nomination Day). Appointments are required to align with the availability of election staff.
