As of September 28, 2026, Brassard will serve as Interim Fire Chief while the Township undertakes recruitment for a permanent Fire Chief.

On September 29 and 30, the Port Carling Lift Bridge will undergo three lifts per day for electrical inspections.

Expect delays of up to 15 minutes between 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead or use the alternate route available on the District of Muskoka website.

On Wednesday, September 16th, the Port Carling Lift Bridge will be reduced to a single lane of traffic to allow for a structural inspection. 

Travel and access in the area will be impacted, with possible delays for commuters due to the single lane closure. Please plan ahead to account for increased travel time through the area.
