Media Release - Significant Weather Event Remains in Effect - March 30
MUSKOKA LAKES, ON – The Significant Weather Event remains in effect in Muskoka Lakes. While crews are out, roads are in poor condition with several roads closed due to fallen trees and branches and downed power lines.
The Township has closed all facilities for the remainder of the day on Sunday March 30, 2025. Arenas, libraries and community centres are closed, and all bookings have been cancelled.
The District Municipality of Muskoka Significant Weather Event for District roads also remains in effect.
As always, in the event of an emergency, please call 9-1-1.
What does declaring a Significant Weather Event mean?
The Township follows strict winter maintenance timelines, but during a Significant Weather Event, road maintenance activities may take longer due to severe conditions. These events are declared to keep the community informed and safe, with crews monitoring weather and road conditions 24/7 and adjusting operations as needed.
